Derek Tidey

Cofounder

Derek Tidey is the cofounder of Proweave Pty Ltd, bringing a wealth of expertise in sales and marketing. With many years of experience leading a large sales and marketing team at Crimsafe Security Systems, Derek has developed a deep understanding of the security screen industry and a proven track record of driving business growth.

Derek holds an MBA, which has further sharpened his strategic thinking and leadership skills, enabling him to navigate the complexities of the stainless steel mesh industry with insight and innovation. As a former chairman of the National Security Screen Association (NSSA), he brings a wealth of industry knowledge and strategic insight to Proweave, helping to establish the company as a trusted leader in the market.

Beyond his professional achievements, Derek is actively involved in Orange Sky Australia, reflecting his commitment to community service and making a positive impact. He also enjoys competing in triathlons, a pursuit that fuels his passion for discipline, determination, and pushing boundaries that resonate in his approach to business at Proweave.

Ramesh Ramachandran

Cofounder

Ramesh Ramachandran is the Cofounder of Proweave Pty Ltd and a mechanical engineer with more than two decades of experience in stainless steel woven mesh, security screen product development and manufacturing operations. He completed a German GTZ supported technical education program in Malaysia before beginning his engineering career on work associated with the Airbus A380 program.

His professional history includes engineering, research and development, procurement and operational roles with Meshtec International and Crimsafe Security Systems, spanning stainless steel mesh manufacturing, product development, performance testing, powder coating and production management. He has led and contributed to the design, development and performance testing of six patented security screen systems, and is named as an inventor on several patents and registered designs.

Ramesh has also worked closely with international machinery and equipment suppliers, building deep expertise in precision stainless steel wire weaving, including the relationship between wire characteristics, weaving consistency, coating performance and security screen testing. At Proweave, he applies this experience to lead the independent development of the company’s products, manufacturing processes and Procoat Technology™.

Today, Ramesh’s focus remains on advancing the quality, consistency and performance of Proweave’s stainless steel woven mesh and security screen products for the Australian market. Outside engineering, he has a lifelong interest in motorsport, reflecting the same discipline and drive for innovation he brings to his work.
